AACSB Accreditation of Business School of Central South University Achieved Milestones

On February 5, 2022, the AACSB (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) Initial Accreditation Committee officially notified Business School of Central South University that the iSER 2nd Progress Report submitted in December, 2021 has passed the review successfully, and officially entered the final stage of AACSB accreditation, which are the Self-Evaluation Report and site visit.

Business School obtained the qualification of AACSB accreditation in August, 2017 and formally launched the accreditation process. iSER was submitted and approved in September, 2019 and entered the stage of continuous improvement. The Progress Reports were submitted in September, 2020 and December, 2021 respectively, and passed the review successfully. It marks a significant milestone in the accreditation process of Business School, the teaching, research and management standards of our school have been recognized by international experts. And its thanks to the attentive guidance of the accreditation supervisor, Professor Jason H. Huang of National Sun Yat-sen University in Taiwan, the full support of schools leadership, and the active participation of relevant faculty and departments.

Next, Business School will prepare for the Self-Evaluation Report and site visit under the guidance of the AACSB official accreditation experts.

AACSB, known as The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, was founded in 1916. As a non-profit organization of international university business schools, associations and other institutions dedicated to improving and promoting higher education in business, it is recognized as the premier accrediting body for business schools worldwide. By the end of 2021, a total of 929 leading university business schools in 63 countries and regions around the world have received the accreditation, including 859 abroad and 70 in China (35 in mainland China, 7 in Hong Kong, 1 in Macau and 27 in Taiwan). Currently, the three major international business school accreditation systems are AACSB (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), EQUIS ((European Quality Improvement System) and AMBA (The Association of MBAs). We have been accredited by AMBA in 2015 and received re-accreditation for the maximum 5-year accreditation period in 2018.
